There have been numerous classical and romantic eras in the arts beginning with two
from the ancient world. Then a rotating pattern of classical and romantic eras begins
c. 1000 and continues until the beginning of the 20th century....
600 BCE - 250 CE - Ancient Greek and Roman Art Classical

1000 - 1150 - Romanesque / Bysantine Classical
1150 - 1400 - Gothic Romantic
1400 - 1600 - Renaissance Classical
1600 - 1730 - Baroque Romantic
1750 - 1800 - Neoclassical (just "classical" in music) Classical (Haydn & Mozart)
1800 - 1850 - Romantic (to 1900 in music) Romantic (Chopin, Liszt)
1900 - 2000 - 20th Century / Contemporary (many trends, no overriding trend)
